BIO

Sabina Meck (a.k.a. Sabina Myrczek) is a singer, composer, arranger, producer and songwriter. She completed composition and arrangement studies at the Jazz Institute of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice. She is also a graduate of the jazz voice class at Bednarska Music School in Warsaw. 

 

So far, she has recorded three solo albums with her own music: "Love is here" (For-Tune 2016, Fryderyk 2017 award nomination in the Phonographic Debut of the Year, Jazz Music category), "Eruption" (Agencja Muzyczna Polskiego Radia 2017) and "Słowo na T".

In her artistic pursuits, she combines singing with composing and arranging music for various vocal and instrumental groups, from smaller ensembles to choirs, big bands and symphony orchestras. She wrote arrangements for such bands as Camerata Silesia Katowice City Singers’ Ensemble, Polish Cello Quartet, Big-Band of the Academy of Music in Katowice, Academic Symphony Orchestra in Katowice, Big-Band of the University of Opole.


She was awarded in many vocal and composer jazz competitions (1st prize in the Blue Note Poznań Competiton 2014 in the vocal category, Grand Prix and special prize - the Best Talent of the Festival during Grupa Azoty Jazz International Contest in Tarnów 2015, 2nd place in the 9th Krzysztof Komeda Composers' Competition in Słupsk 2015). In 2017, she received a Minister of Culture and National Heritage Grant for outstanding artistic achievements.
